Welcome back to our weekly spotlight on helpful apps. We focus on a variety of products that are useful for work, personal use, or both, providing our own thoughts on the apps and what you can do with them. This week we find a new job by swiping right with Jobmagnt.

    An intro to Jobmagnt
Searching for a new job is simultaneously exciting and excruciating. Trawling through online job boards and trying to make the most of your list of contacts isn’t exactly everyone’s idea of having fun during their down time. Jobmagnt makes the hunt a little bit easier by combining the interface of a popular dating app with recruitment.

This free app pulls thousands of jobs from across the internet, saving you the hassle of visiting multiple websites in search of the perfect role. You can upload your CV and a profile image so it’s all on file and ready to go. Enter the job title you’re looking for and the app will search for appropriate roles to show you. If you like a job you can swipe right to find out more, or left if you’re not interested. Once you swipe right you can apply directly from the app.

    Our review
The ‘swipe right, swipe left’ interface of Jobmagnt really does make job hunting a little bit easier. If you can look for a date in such a way, why not a job?

I tested it out for PA roles in London and found it was a great way to pass some time on a train journey. You’re provided with a snapshot of the job – title, recruiter, location, pay and when the listing was posted – which makes swiping left or right handy. If you’re interested but don’t have time to look at the full information, you can save the role to your favourites so you can go back to it later.

    The verdict
Swipe right on this one. It’s a really great tool for those searching for their dream job and makes everything so much easier and less stressful. And because it’s free you’ve got nothing to lose.
