City PA faces jail for ‘glassing’ stranger on night out

Yorkshire office manager avoids jail for theft

A PA at a City of London-based insurance broker has been told by a judge that she could be jailed for an incident in which she ‘glassed’ a woman while out for drinks.

Lauren Gritz allegedly “lashed out” at a stranger, later identified as Paige Wooding, hitting her over the head with a glass at Agenda Bar in London in May. Wooding reportedly collapsed three times following the attack and required medical attention to treat a wound on her forehead.

Inner London Crown Court was told Wooding and Gritz did not know each other. The attack was caught on CCTV and the judge will watch the footage before deciding on a sentence.

Gritz works as a PA at insurance firm Jardine Lloyd Thompson. She pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and was told by Judge Nigel Seed QC that she could face time in prison at the sentencing on 25 October.
