Whether you’re holding a meeting, running a training session, or hosting a video conference, PHTA’s versatile space in Birmingham is designed to keep you focused, connected, and productive.
Our fully-equipped meeting rooms accommodate up to 60 people and feature state-of-the-art audio-visual technology, including large connectable TV screens – perfect for Zoom and hybrid meetings – as well as superfast, reliable broadband. For training sessions or larger groups, our combined training suite can hold up to 120 people.
And to make sure everything runs smoothly, we can arrange hospitality and refreshments on request too through our preferred supplier, Robinson’s – everything from continental and hot breakfast baps, to creative sandwich platters and hot fork buffets. Or, you’re more than welcome to arrange your own catering.

Small groups
Our small group meeting rooms are perfect for team meetings, presentations, interviews and 1-2-1s.
On our third floor, you’ll find rooms with capacities of 4 and 6 people.
Up on the fourth floor, our meeting rooms hold 6 or 10 people, with easy access to breakout spaces and tea points. Our 10-person room also benefits from natural light.
Finally, our fifth floor rooms each hold up to 6 people, with natural light and situated close to a tea point.
Medium groups
Flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, our fourth-floor meeting room is ideally suited for board meetings, away days, training sessions and focus groups.
We can customise this room to your precise requirements in the following layout styles:
- Round tables (24 people)
- U-shape (14)
- Boardroom oval (16)
- Classroom (12)
Don’t need tables? A theatre-style layout extends the capacity of this room to 32.
This room can also be booked as a breakout space for one of our large meeting rooms – or, with the partitions opened fully, the combined space can host around 80 people (layout dependent).
Large groups
With floor-to-ceiling windows flooding the room with natural light, our two large meeting rooms on the fourth floor each have a full capacity of 60, layout dependent – making them ideal for board meetings, away days, training sessions and presentations.
One of these large rooms also benefits from an adjoining breakout space, which ups the capacity to around 80 with the partitions fully opened.
Full training suite
By booking both our large meeting spaces, the adjoining breakout space and the central lounge, we can create a flexible event space for around 120 guests.
We can customise these rooms to your requirements with a variety of configurations including banquet, cabaret, boardroom, classroom and theatre layout.
For medium and large meetings, we also have a separate registration space available for display banners, sign-in stations and merch giveaways.
All rooms are accessible, and all WC facilities are self-contained, so inclusive.

Should you need it, we can also provide:

- Modular stage available for hire (max 8m2, includes wheelchair ramp and safety barrier)

Who we are
PHTA provides lab and innovation space for life science and health technology companies in Birmingham. Based at Birmingham Health Innovation Campus, it offers flexible Category 2 lab space designed for start-ups, SMEs and scale-ups developing new healthcare technologies.
The facility includes 70,000 sq ft of wet and dry lab space, collaborative and flexible workspaces, and the Makerspace – a prototyping and small-batch manufacturing facility. It also provides access to training, business support and commercialisation expertise.

Where we are
Birmingham Health Innovation Campus is situated in leafy Selly Oak, jut off the A38 Aston Webb Boulevard.
Parking for event bookings is free of charge, and we are within walking distance of both University and Selly Oak stations, as well as being served by several TfWM bus services.
Disabled spaces and EV chargers are available, as well as bike storage (please bring your own lock).
