We boarded the Jewel of London at Festival Pier in the South Bank of London and headed down the Thames on our two-and-a-half-hour cruise. On stepping abord this beautifully renovated vessel we were welcomed by Robert Cairns, Managing Director of London Party Boats and his wonderful team. With a glass of bubbly served in the spacious and airy reception area it was time to explore the vessel which can carry up to 240 guests.
The saloon has large viewing windows and panoramic glass roof making it easy to take in all the sights. The roof can be also opened on sunny days, weather permitting. The saloon is a spacious are with a large dance floor in the middle with tables and chairs along the sides of the vessel, leading directly to the cocktail and champagne bar.
The mezzanine-style upper deck is a unique feature on the Thames party boats. It has a second bar and the DJ booth, plus also more seating around tables. Worth also mentioning that the lavatories are of high standard, not what you’d expect to get on most boats. Also important to mention that the boat is fully heated so you won’t feel the chill in the colder months or on your festive parties, unless you step out to the outside decks at the bow or stern of the boat.

The cocktails were freshly made by experienced mixologist – we had a chance to sample some of the best margaritas, mojitos and cosmopolitans and enjoyed tasty canapes too.
The entertainment was fantastic too. A saxophone player got us in the party mood as soon as we arrived and our hosts had laid out very professional looking, fun casino and Black Jack tables with dealers ready to take us on as we spent our ‘Bank of PA Life’ notes. Who doesn’t love playing when someone else if paying 🙂 That wasn’t all as were were also entertained by a truly fantastic magician, Brad, who’s mind bending tricks had us all in awe.
