Our latest FAM trip took 12 EAs, PAs and Office Managers to the charming Jubilee Market Hall in Covent Garden, where we got into the Christmas spirit with a fun and slightly unusual workshop creating LEGO® Christmas baubles – yes, in September!
Over just two hours, our host Camilla, owner and founder of Figiverse, helped us create personalised LEGO® Christmas baubles to gift or keep. There’s something surprisingly therapeutic about foraging through boxes of tiny bricks, heads and body parts, trying to find the perfect combination – all without looking at your phone for once. Naturally, there were plenty of festive treats and drinks to keep us going, too.
Figiverse is an events company specialising in playful, inclusive build-your-own minifigure experiences for workplace events, Christmas parties, conferences, weddings and workshops. Using genuine LEGO® minifigure elements, Figiverse offers flexible formats ranging from relaxed hosted drop-in stations to more structured group workshops. Festive spirit
Upon arrival, we immediately got into the festive spirit with a selection of Christmas cakes, biscuits and glasses of bubbly. Barry, the manager at Jubilee Market Hall made sure the drinks were flowing and we even had Christmas music on to cheer us up. Located in the heart of Covent Garden, the historical market hall dates back to 1904. You might know the Grade II-listed hall as an antique and collectables market on Mondays, a general market from Tuesday to Friday and an arts and crafts market at weekends. It’s also a great place to watch street performances and shop souvenirs on the weekends – and, as we discovered on our latest FAM trip, it’s a rather good place to get into the Christmas spirit…
Inclusivity first
The best thing about the workshop was the incredible selection of LEGO® pieces available. From classic body parts and heads with different expressions to unusual animals, a wide range of skin tones and disability aids, there was so much to choose from.
Figiverse sources pieces directly from LEGO® stores and resellers, as well as specialist dealers, to make sure its collections represent all types of people. Among the piles, you could find guide dogs, wheelchairs, faces with vitiligo and a huge variety of hair types.
It was a small but important detail that made the workshop feel genuinely inclusive. Everyone could create a bauble that felt personal to them, rather than having to settle for a generic character – which is exactly the point of these events. No one should feel underrepresented, and everyone should be able to create a keepsake that reflects them or the person they want to gift it to.

We each got to create not just one, but two LEGO® characters, before decorating our baubles with glitter, fake snow, glitter pens and festive signs. It was a great way to spend an evening networking while doing something creative with our hands after a day spent in front of a computer.
