The mood of the nation seems positive since the recent general election results were confirmed. A huge rise in people organising parties is a firm indicator of this optimism. The fact that England made it to the EURO Final last night might have played its part too. Togather, the UKโs largest events booking platform, has reported a 30% rise in event planning, with the rise across company parties, summer parties and even weddings…
The largest rise has been in London, followed by Manchester, with the lowest rise seen in Essex. The UK has seen a marked rise in the number of people organising parties since the results of the General Election were confirmed, with a clear victory for the Labour party seeming to reflect an upturn in the national mood.
Event booking platform confirm a huge rise in parties and events
Events booking platform Togather has seen a 30% increase in party requests following the election, with the largest number of people putting in enquiries to organise events since it launched in 2018. This has meant around 15,000 people used the platform compared to an average 10,000 to enquire about booking suppliers for their parties.
This result was seen across a number of event types, affecting summer parties (up 33%), company parties (up 27%) and even weddings (29%), although there has been a conspicuously lower rise in dinner party enquiries (5%) – suggesting that people are looking to throw big bashes to celebrate.
These results arenโt located to one single region, with similar rises seen around the whole country. The highest overall has been seen in London (39%) and Greater Manchester (35%), and lowest in Surrey (18%) and Essex (18%).
Togather saw 15m attend events booked on its platform last year. The platform is regularly used by the likes of Amazon, Nike and Meta to organise their events. Celebrities including Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie have also booked suppliers for their private parties using Togathar.
Togather co-founder Hugo Campbell said โWeโve never seen such an immediate wave of parties like this before, itโs like a button has pressed on the nationโs optimism – although itโs hard to know if this is because of happiness over the new government or a sense of relief at seeing the back of the old one.
Parties are the ultimate expression of joy and tend to reflect the general mood of the population very well – and it seems that people want to let loose.โ
