PA Life Club VIP lunch and tour at the Royal Opera House

PA-Life-Club-at-Royal-Opera-House

PA Life Club members were treated to a VIP lunch and tour of the magnificent Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden. Our special VIP Meet Up was on February 16th and over 40 Club members were able to attend. We had to leave an even larger number on the waiting list to wait for another occasion.

Upon arrival we were shown to the Piazza Terrace for networking and drinks, and for a chance to meet members from the Royal Opera House. Jane, Business Director, welcomed everyone with a short speech, giving the PAs and EAs a good insight into the operations, values why the Royal Opera House is so special as the home to The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

After the introductions the attendeeโ€™s were split into two groups for the much anticipated tour of the building. We were first shown the Paul Hamlyn Hall and given an interesting history lesson about the room; how it come to be what it is today. We then followed our guide through to the Dorfman Conservatory which links to the Crush Room.

These spaces can be booked together as well as separately.

We were all excited to be able to see the Auditorium (no photography allowed) which seats up to 2,256 people โ€“ making it the third largest in London. It was truly amazing, such a beautiful room.

Time for the PA Life Club members to sit down for lunch

That ended our lovely tour and we headed back to the Piazza to sit down for lunch. The restaurant team put on an amazing feast for the guests. On offer was a selection of three starters and three main courses. Little dessert plates and a glass of fizz were served after lunch back on the Piazza Terrace where we stayed enjoying a chance to continue networking.

About Royal Opera House

The Royal Opera House is at the centre of Londonโ€™s artistic life and is the UKโ€™s leading destination for world-class opera and ballet. The building is home to three of the worldโ€™s greatest performing arts companies: The Royal Ballet, The Royal Opera and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

They bring together the worldโ€™s most extraordinary artists in live, streamed and broadcast events with performances that thrill, move and excite, and transport people to other worlds. The theatres are in Londonโ€™s Covent Garden, but our work is accessed and experienced across the UK and globally through touring partnerships, cinema programmes, radio, TV and streaming.

The mission of the Royal Opera House is to enrich the cultural life of the nation by growing the public enjoyment and appreciation of exceptional ballet, dance, opera and music.

As one of Europeโ€™s busiest theatres with almost 400 performances a year they employ more artists than any other arts institution in the UK.

The upcoming highlights this season include a brand new production of Cinderella from the end of March.

The Royal Opera House is open to the non-ticket buying public from 12pm each day. You’ll find a range of restaurants, bars and cafes to enjoy if you are just visiting or passing through the attractions of Londonโ€™s Convent Garden.
