If you haven’t visited the RAF Museum in Colindale, North West London yet, do add it to your list. The vast museum, formerly an air field, has six hangars housing over 100 historic aircraft and memorabilia dating back to when it first opened as The London Aerodrome, through four years of World War I to the formation of the Royal Air Force in 1918. And the entrance is free.
The RAF Museum makes an impressive event venue
The RAF Museum is an excellent and very attractive venue for conferences, events and celebrations with many versatile spaces. You can dine and dance underneath the legendary Lancaster – we posed for the main image thee – or the magnificent Sunderland Flying Boat. The Sunderland Hall is the largest space and can holdย up to 600 people for a dinner or cocktail reception.
You can also enjoy a drinks reception next to the Spitfire and amongst tens of other rare aircraft. The museum is also a great venue for team building days as you can get your teams to explore history together, ride the fighter plane flight simulation, fly a drone and sit in the cockpit of a Spitfire.
The museum also has a lecture theatre seating up to 220 people and a versatile Dermot Boyle Wing boosting 480sqm of uninterrupted floor space.ย All daytime corporate guests have free access to the Museum itself during opening hours and receive complimentary onsite car parking.
We enjoyed our guided tour that took in all the hangers immensely and learned so much of the history of the RAF and the battle of the skies over the past 100 years.
