The historic Painters’ Hall hosted PA Life Club members for a spookalishious evening on Halloween to showcase the beautiful venue and their superb catering.
15 of our Club members were welcomed with glasses of prosecco and wine at the ground floor’s fantastic Court room by members of the event and marketing team from Graysons.
The in-house catering team had created a wonderful Halloween themed buffet for us to sample whilst we took in the many amazing paintings and decorations gracing the room. The most delicious canapes and bowl food soon followed – we were all in awe of the wonderful seasonal British catering which Graysons, the venue’s event partner, is well known for. We must also mention the excellent service on the night – the team at Painters’ Hall were truly exceptional.
Upon arrival, we were also given a quiz sheet with questions about Painters’ Hall and its colourful history to complete. That was a really good way to learn about the venue and made for a fun activity.
After the feast, it was time to see the rest of this lovely venue. There are two large halls and a very attractive dining room, which serves perfectly as a meeting room too. We headed up to the largest space – the Livery Hall – on the first floor, that serves as a great conference, exhibition or gala dinner space. Its grand stained glass windows and many impressive paintings ranging over 400 years, include senior royals from the past to present, are truly impressive.
The Clerk, Alice Pearson, entertained us with a wonderfully insightful and interesting talk about the rich history of Painters’ Hall. We learned about some less than savoury royal stories from the past, and even a few details about some of the decorations and finishes not being quite what you’d expect thanks to the very clever member painter-stainers’ exceptional work. This was also a good opportunity to learn more about the venue in order to complete the questions in our quiz.
PA Life Club events are for members only. We invite new members to register here for a free membership in order to be able to enjoy exclusive invitations to events such as this, partner offers, competitions and discounted online courses.
