Manchesterโ€™s leading events company, Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), is taking a stand this International Womenโ€™s Dayโ€”not with a gala or panel discussion, but with direct action. This year, TLC is partnering with Emmelineโ€™s Pantry, a South Manchester-based charity run by women for women, to provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable women and families in the community.

The TLC team, known for planning high-profile luxury events, is stepping away from the glitz and glamour to focus on grassroots impact. The company is rallying sponsors, collecting donations, and assembling essential suppliesโ€”including food, clothing, toiletries, and toysโ€”to help Emmelineโ€™s Pantry continue its critical mission.

Taking action this International Women’s Day is needed

โ€œInternational Womenโ€™s Day shouldnโ€™t just be a date in the calendarโ€”it should be a call to action,โ€ says Liz Taylor, CEO of TLC. โ€œI wanted to move beyond words and do something with real, tangible impact. Emmelineโ€™s Pantry is a lifeline for so many women, and Iโ€™m proud that TLC can play a part in ensuring they get the support they deserve.โ€

Since announcing the initiative, TLC has already secured the generous support of B&M Stores, whose backing will help strengthen the impact of TLCโ€™s efforts.

Emmelineโ€™s Pantry has experienced a staggering 225% rise in demand over the past five years and now provides food for nearly 250 people each week. However, as the cost-of-living crisis deepens, donations have slowedโ€”leaving the charity in urgent need of resources.

โ€œAs a volunteer-led organisation, we rely entirely on donations,โ€ says Karen Wilson, founder of Emmelineโ€™s Pantry. โ€œMany of the women we support are hesitant to ask for help, which is why we are and always will be a women-run charity that offers dignity and support in a safe space. TLCโ€™s generosity will make a real difference, and we are so grateful for their help in raising awareness of the vital work we do.โ€

TLC will close its headquarters on March 7, 2025, to personally deliver the donations to Emmelineโ€™s Pantry. The team will hear firsthand from women whose lives have been transformed by the charity, reinforcing the real-world impact of their efforts.

Actress, Jennie McAlpine is thrilled to support TLCโ€™s International Womenโ€™s Day initiative. โ€œWhen I heard about what Liz and the TLC team were doing, I knew I wanted to be involved,โ€ says Jennie. โ€œMy family is everything to me, which is why Iโ€™m proud to support charities like Emmelineโ€™s Pantry, who are truly changing lives every day.โ€

“Emmelineโ€™s Pantry has given me back my self-worth,” shares one of the charityโ€™s users. “I was on such low pay that every penny went toward bills. Emmelineโ€™s not only allowed me to get small gifts for my family at Christmas but also provided a safe space for me. It helped me regain my confidence, step out of my flat, and rebuild my sense of purpose. Now, Iโ€™m proud to give back by volunteering for the very organisation that supported me through so much.”

TLCโ€™s commitment to empowering women doesnโ€™t stop here. Later this year, the company will lend its event-planning expertise to Smart Works, a charity that helps unemployed women gain the confidence, coaching, and professional clothing they need to succeed in job interviews and transform their futures.
