Manchesterโs leading events company, Taylor Lynn Corporation (TLC), is taking a stand this International Womenโs Dayโnot with a gala or panel discussion, but with direct action. This year, TLC is partnering with Emmelineโs Pantry, a South Manchester-based charity run by women for women, to provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable women and families in the community.
The TLC team, known for planning high-profile luxury events, is stepping away from the glitz and glamour to focus on grassroots impact. The company is rallying sponsors, collecting donations, and assembling essential suppliesโincluding food, clothing, toiletries, and toysโto help Emmelineโs Pantry continue its critical mission.
Taking action this International Women’s Day is needed
โInternational Womenโs Day shouldnโt just be a date in the calendarโit should be a call to action,โ says Liz Taylor, CEO of TLC. โI wanted to move beyond words and do something with real, tangible impact. Emmelineโs Pantry is a lifeline for so many women, and Iโm proud that TLC can play a part in ensuring they get the support they deserve.โ
Since announcing the initiative, TLC has already secured the generous support of B&M Stores, whose backing will help strengthen the impact of TLCโs efforts.
Emmelineโs Pantry has experienced a staggering 225% rise in demand over the past five years and now provides food for nearly 250 people each week. However, as the cost-of-living crisis deepens, donations have slowedโleaving the charity in urgent need of resources.
โAs a volunteer-led organisation, we rely entirely on donations,โ says Karen Wilson, founder of Emmelineโs Pantry. โMany of the women we support are hesitant to ask for help, which is why we are and always will be a women-run charity that offers dignity and support in a safe space. TLCโs generosity will make a real difference, and we are so grateful for their help in raising awareness of the vital work we do.โ
TLC will close its headquarters on March 7, 2025, to personally deliver the donations to Emmelineโs Pantry. The team will hear firsthand from women whose lives have been transformed by the charity, reinforcing the real-world impact of their efforts.
Actress, Jennie McAlpine is thrilled to support TLCโs International Womenโs Day initiative. โWhen I heard about what Liz and the TLC team were doing, I knew I wanted to be involved,โ says Jennie. โMy family is everything to me, which is why Iโm proud to support charities like Emmelineโs Pantry, who are truly changing lives every day.โ
“Emmelineโs Pantry has given me back my self-worth,” shares one of the charityโs users. “I was on such low pay that every penny went toward bills. Emmelineโs not only allowed me to get small gifts for my family at Christmas but also provided a safe space for me. It helped me regain my confidence, step out of my flat, and rebuild my sense of purpose. Now, Iโm proud to give back by volunteering for the very organisation that supported me through so much.”
TLCโs commitment to empowering women doesnโt stop here. Later this year, the company will lend its event-planning expertise to Smart Works, a charity that helps unemployed women gain the confidence, coaching, and professional clothing they need to succeed in job interviews and transform their futures.
