Hotel Review: Chapel House Estate’s Glass Courtyard

Chapel-House-The-Glass- Courtyard-in-Kent

PA Life visited The Chapel House Estate in Ramsgate, Kent to discover their Glass Court Yard at their opening launch party. The team kindly gifted us with an overnight stay in one of their luxurious lodges, veiled by a bountiful orchard, lush paddocks and a dreamy walled garden. Nestled in a sprawling private estate where anything goes. Chapel House Estate is home to unique celebrations where you get to have it all, your way.

The main area of the estate, The Glass Courtyard seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor living. The airy, light-filled space features floor-to-ceiling glass windows, bi-fold doors and a retractable glass roof – all with a striking original oak frame at the centre. Perfect for any events you are looking to host, prepared for any weather conditions.

Events at The Glass Courtyard

We enjoyed canapes and champagne with the boasting views on to the surrounding walled garden and bordered by the estate’s flourishing wild apple orchard. The Glass Courtyard is ideal for a variety of intimate, relaxed events, from company retreats to product launches and from team building to networking receptions.

Located near the seaside town of Ramsgate in Kent, The Glass Courtyard provides a peaceful rural sanctuary for corporate gatherings, yet is easily accessible from London, with excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and beyond.

With a capacity of 100 standing and 60 seated, The Glass Courtyard complements Chapel House Estate’s five versatile meetings and events spaces, which include The Thorne Barn (capacity 150 seated, 200 standing), the Old Malt Granary (capacity 150 theatre-style), the award-winning number nine restaurant (capacity 34), the Green Room for smaller meetings and breakout sessions (capacity 22), and the Lounge Bar (capacity 50) which opens on to The Glass Courtyard.

The Lodges

These luxurious lodges are situated in a separate area to the rest of the estate, making this such a peaceful haven. There are only 8 lodges, which makes this feel so exclusive. Perfect for any retreat, wedding or away day. The whole estate is decorated so beautifully, perfectly modern but still with accents of authenticity. We received a stunning breakfast hamper at 8am, with fruits, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice from the local area, and buttery pastries. Ready for our drive back home, to Hertfordshire.

Number 9 Restaurant

Ideally located next to The Glass Courtyard is the estate’s standalone number nine restaurant. Offering a delicious menu created from seasonal Kentish ingredients in a relaxed yet sophisticated environment, the award-winning number nine is available for corporate lunches, business dinners and private events. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try this, we tried a local gem, Quince. Which was absolutely outstanding, if you are looking to explore the area.
