PA Life recently enjoyed a lovely summer visit to Marriott’s newly refurbed hotel, London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, right around the corner from Bond Street. Staying at Marriottโs newly refurbed hotel โ that blends classic townhouse heritage with modern five-star luxury โ the property offers 237 elegant guest rooms and suites, including some with private garden access.
Marriott’s newly refurbed hotel
Its culinary line-up includes Gordon Ramsayโs Bar & Grill and his Lucky Cat restaurant. Meanwhile, The Luggage Room Bar & Lounge spans two distinct spaces: a refined all-day lobby cafรฉ โ ideal for relaxed meetings โ and an elegant 1920s-inspired speakeasy โ the perfect destination to enjoy a Cosmo.
Meetings and events
London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square offers 11 versatile event spaces spanning 16,297 square feet, making it one of Londonโs most sought-after locations for business functions, networking receptions, and large-scale conferences. The hotel has also recently undergone a transformation in celebration of its 40th anniversary with the siteโs iconic Mayfair Suites now offering a flexible layout that can be configured into four sections or a large single space, for up to 170 guests.
Following refurbishment, enhancements include new breakout areas designed for seamless networking and barista-style coffee stations, all offering premium refreshments and an expanded catering menu tailored to corporate and private events.
Additionally, the hotelโs M Club Lounge โ an exclusive lounge available to executive guests โ has been redesigned to offer further refined workspaces, a flexible social area, and complimentary refreshments throughout the day.
The hotel bedrooms
While visiting, PA Life stayed in one of the stunning Junior Balcony Suites. These rooms have been beautifully designed and are now home to a sleek interior with private balconies or private gardens. The white marble bathrooms are generously filled with The White Company utilities โ The White Company providing the hotel with its signature scent โ and a deep bathtub that is hard to deny.
From the bedroom, you can easily order room service through the incredibly attentive and friendly staff, who are always happy to assist. This is always a highlight for me at The Marriott Hotels.
The Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay
Situated within the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay, is a restaurant filled with a sultry atmosphere and a delicacy of indulgent dishes. Lucky Cat is known for its elevated dining and cocktail experience and is inspired by Asian eating houses and the drinking clubs of 1930s Tokyo and the Far East.
We sampled their signature set menu, The Taste of Lucky Cat, a flavourful menu of Asian-inspired dishes with notes from their raw bar โ which diners can sit at. Check out their Signature menus here. The Lucky Cat bar celebrates the spirit of Tokyoโs 1930s Kissa Clubs and Shanghaiโs drinking dens. It is an intimate and a fantastic venue for private dining and party plans, with three private dining rooms โ some of which cater for up to 40 people.
Our tasting meal began with freshly steamed edamame, Yellowtail Tartare, and Baby Squid. These were all incredible. A personal favourite was the Mushroom Tempura, paired with a Black Garlic Emulsion โ something I wouldnโt typically pick from the menu, but that is the beauty of a tasting menu!
Drinks at Lucky Cat
As the evening crept in, out came our cocktails: The Mizi, which included Honjozo sake, St Germain elderflower, yuzu, and Fever-Tree Indian tonic. The General Manager of the restaurant, Steve Bonnington showed us the way. The drink was incredibly fresh and the perfect balance of sweet โ all poured over crushed ice.
It is definitely worth exploring the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, as well as The Lucky Cat, as they both provide such a luxurious yet comfortable experience. Staying at the Marriott is always such a pleasure, whichever location you are in.
A note from the general manager, Alok Dixit
“As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, these renovations reaffirm our commitment to providing world-class business and event facilities in the heart of Mayfair. Whether hosting a board meeting, corporate gala, or large-scale conference, our enhanced spaces offer the ideal setting. Along with combining functionality with elevated hospitality and thoughtful designโ.
Marriott’s newly refurbed hotel, venue and restaurant is worth checking out, particularly if you are looking for a striking private dining venue, event space or overnight accommodation in the heart of London.
