PAs predict shift away from hybrid events to face-to-face

At a recent PA Life Club FAM Trip at Athena, the landmark Art Deco events venue in Leicester’s cultural quarter, it emerged that PAs are expecting a shift away from hybrid events and a return to face-to-face in 2024.

Speaking at the ‘New York Nights’ gala dinner event at Athena in Leicester for PA Life Club’s recent FAM Trip, Felicia Hodge, Committee Secretary/Administrator from Healthwatch England, said she predicts that many PAs will move away from hybrid events in 2024 to organise more face-to-face meetings and events.

Linda Willmott, director of events agency Willmott Associates, agreed: “People understand that face to face builds relationships. You can have good discussions around a table, followed by a drinks and canape reception to bring people together.”

Sustainability increasingly important at events

Sustainability is high on the agenda for PAs this year, too. At the Athena event, Angelique Wong, Executive Assistant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), explained: “In 2024, BCG will look to host more events in the UK as we are pushing for more climate-friendly and sustainable ways of working. This gives us the opportunity to showcase UK cities that may previously have been overlooked for European countries. Athena has the wow factor we look for. We would definitely host an event at Athena as the venue holds over 1,000 guests, which would comfortably accommodate employees in our London offices.”

Athena also ticks the sustainability box as the venue can be reached within an hour by train from London and is a walking distance from Leicester Train Station.
