What’s a private members wellness club like? We reviewed Grey Wolfe

Our Editor visited a pioneering wellness clinic, Grey Wolfe in Barnes, South West London, to find out what a private members wellness club is like and how they can improve the wellbeing ofย  stressed out corporate executives…

My first impression was of tranquility as I entered the clinic. The entire place was booked for me alone as the philosophy of Grey Wolfe is to provide solitude, and that can be achieved best for single member use at any one time. A member can also bring one guest with them.

The club had allocated three to four hours for my visit. I was to experience the Attuned Recharge programme based on how I felt that day and what I hoped to achieve. There was no strict time limit as it would depend on what was needed to fit the best treatments into my visit. As a truly holistic clinic they regard physical, emotional, spiritual, nutritional and mental health equally important and needing to be in balance in order to achieve optimum health and wellbeing. This is achieved with the use of BioHealth programmes.

The health professionals at Grey Wolfe cover many areas of wellbeing and believe a healthy diet and exercise regime isn’t enough to achieve and maintain optimum health. Your mindset, your mind-health, needs to also be good for your body to fully benefit from all your hard work in other areas. The same applies to your body processing nutrition from your diet. When all areas are tackled together, you will reach optimal health both physically and mentally.

We explored what a private members wellness club is like?

I was greeted with a warm welcome by Elada, the Senior Biotechnician, she is also a nutritional and life coach. Elada told me what to expect of my visit over a cup of warming herbal tea, I was also asked to complete a comprehensive health questionnaire. She didn’t just take my answers as a given, instead I was wired up to the Rebalance Impulse machine to measure my heart function and stress levels as well as other indicators of my overall health. This initial assessment took 30 minutes whilst I was lying on a zero-gravity bed under soothing led lights, eyes closed and listening to a lovely meditation guidance.

My results showed that I wasn’t quite as relaxed as I thought I was which led to Elada to suggesting we’ll choose treatments to help relieve stress.

The programme recommended for my first visit

The first in my programme was to relax in the infrared sauna which was pleasantly warm at 70 degrees Celsius. The infrared rays work on a deep cellular level rejuvenating many parts of your body, including your muscles, and also boost collagen production. After a cooling shower it was time to relax even more with a hot stone massage to relieve tension in all the places where us desk workers most hold it i.e. shoulders and back. It was a wonderful full-length treatment of my back, arms and legs and I felt very chilled afterwards.

Grey Wolfe uses the latest tech and tools, there are many amazing machines I hadn’t even heard of before, such as the BioCharger which I also got to experience. I felt a slight vibration lying next to the machine on another zero-gravity bed.
