Restaurant Review: Prezzo Italian is marking a new chapter

As Prezzo celebrates its 25th anniversary, it’s also marking a new chapter becoming one of PA Life’s recommended suppliers and, most notably, unveiling a ‘bold new brand identity’ as Prezzo Italian. Alongside the rebrand, the restaurant has launched a refreshed food and drink menu that sets the high standard of their new look.

We tried the Stevenage branch, and were warmly greeted by the restaurant manager Kristina, who was so welcoming. Their newly crafted menu designed to cater for ‘all types of occasions’, featuring new fresh offers such as a 2 hour bottomless brunch. Think Crispy calamari served with tangy pestonnaise dip, and Hot Honey Glazed Giant Mozzarella Sticks with marinara sauce & basil pesto all at the side of perfectly crafted, oven baked pizza or pasta.

Our meal at Prezzo Italian

We visited on a Saturday afternoon, the perfect treat after a long working week. We started the meal with their iconic crispy calamari, served with a tangy pesto mayonnaise. This was the perfect crisp, and so delicious. For our mains, my guest had the King Prawns & Burrata pizza, that had a Calabrese sauce base, topped with prawns, creamy Burrata, mozzarella and a handful of peppery rocket. The portions were very generous, and the pizza was perfectly fresh, with a soft base and thick crusts.

I had a healthier option, a Chicken, Bacon and Avocado Salad, with Crispy prosciutto, chicken, mixed leaves, cucumber and avocado in a sweet honey mustard dressing. This was perfectly crisp, and through the salt of the prosciutto balanced with the freshness of the avocado and honey mustard dressing, this all blended together very well. It was very light, but still fulfilling enough.

New side dishes

For sides we were recommended the Mac and Cheese Bites, and tied a personal favourite, Truffle and Parmesan Chips. The new Prezzo menu has some unique sides and starters to spice up your meal. For example, their new Italian pancetta croquettes with mac and cheese, finished with grated Italian cheese and served with a Calabrese ketchup dip. Or try out their Dough twist, A dough crust, baked until golden and filled with mozzarella, béchamel and black pepper. Served with any dip of your choice.

Service at Prezzo

The service at Prezzo Stevenage is impeccable, the staff are so friendly. Prezzo promote that there’s nothing quite like gathering around the table with family and friends, savouring the moment and making memories. It’s all these things together that make Italian dining so special.
