Exploring the VA role at office* show

We are halfway through the โ€˜decade of the virtual assistantโ€™, owing mostly to the fact that since 2010, there has been a 156 per cent increase globally in VA job postings.

In response, more and more PAs are taking the plunge and going it alone as virtual assistants – self-employed business operators providing administrative, secretarial, technical and creative services via remote means — and many of them have been hugely successful at starting agencies that employ several assistants.

At this yearโ€™s office* show, PA Life editor Amelia Walker will be hosting a Q&A with Michelle Smith, founder of her own VA business, Value Add Business Solutions (VABS).

Michelle started VABS with the aim of building a business which helps other businesses thrive, having spent more than 20 years in the service industry. She prides herself on bringing a fresh eye to existing roles at short notice, wearing many different managerial hats and delivering first class service while meeting every clientโ€™s needs.

In this informal session, Amelia and Michelle will explore the role of the VA, looking at the challenges of going it alone and how to make your business a success should a PA choose to develop their career in this direction.

Attend Amelia and Michelleโ€™s Q&A session in the office* Experts Theatre at 3:30pm on Wednesday 13th October.
