The London Comedy Lunch is not your usual Christmas party

The London Comedy Lunch has been a runaway success since year one. Created by Inconnection, it’s an exclusive corporate hospitality event where everyone enjoys an excellent lunch, has an opportunity to network with their peers and to split their sides watching some of the UK’s finest comedy talent while supporting a national charity. PA Life interviews Sarah Talbot, a Senior Account Manager at Inconnection, to find out what makes the event so successful.

Q: How did Inconnection come up with the idea for the London Comedy Lunch?
A: “We specialise in bespoke events and therefore always strive to offer our clients something a bit different, so we came up with the London Comedy Lunch, which differs from the usual Christmas party events. The lunch is a great corporate hospitality solution for entertaining clients, as well as supporting a good cause.”

Q: What sort of results have you seen from the event? How has it helped your chosen charity?
A: “We have supported a number of charities in the past and this year we have chosen Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. We are very proud to support this charity and contribute to the outstanding support they provide to families caring for a seriously ill child.”

Q: How can the event benefit corporate groups?
A: “It’s an exclusive corporate hospitality event where everyone enjoys an excellent lunch, has an opportunity to network with their peers and enjoy great comedy, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to entertain clients at year end or reward colleagues.”

Q: Can you name some of the most popular acts that have performed at past events?
A: “Jack Whitehall, Kevin Bridges, Dara Ó Briain, Jimmy Carr and Mike Gunn have all performed at the London Comedy Lunch. Each year we take on the feedback of our clients and who they want to see next time, which is why we have brought back Sean Collins to host this year, as he went down a storm in 2014.”

Q: How are this year’s bookings looking so far? Is it better to book sooner rather than later?
A: “Tables are getting snapped up quickly as we head into the Christmas period and are booked on a first-come-first-served basis, so if it’s the best table location you want, the earlier you book the better. Otherwise we will always accommodate bookings up until the end of November.”

Prices start from £2,500 for a table of 10 and include a pre-lunch drinks reception and a four-course lunch with unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks.
