PA Life Club’s FAM Trip last week was a wonderful introduction to one of Bloomsbury’s deluxe hotels, the Radisson Blu Bloomsbury. The stylish event spaces, beautifully refurbished bedrooms, and the Bloomsbury Street Kitchen were an absolute delight to visit, made all the more memorable by the warm hospitality we received from the venue team…
The invitation for this Club FAM Trip was aimed at our members who are looking for a central London hotel with impressive event spaces to host a meeting or event. The evening delivered a chance to experience just that, and more.
The Radisson Blu Bloomsbury is located a few minutes away from Tottenham Court Road station, and is an easy stroll from Covent Garden, the British Museum and University College London (UCL). As an area, Bloomsbury has plenty of elegant, leafy Georgian squares and is renowned for world-class museums and rich literary history.
From the first ‘welcome’ to the ‘good nights’ after the great evening, everyone in the venue team showed us what personable hospitality and attention to every detail does to enhance an event experience.
Our hosts Najlaa El-Alami, Director of Sales; Kinara Pritchard, Business Intern and Kirsten Ariano from the Head Office at Axiom Hospitality, with the help of their hospitality colleagues welcomed us with a glass, or two, of the house champagne – Pommery Brut Royal. Najlaa’s introductory talk also gave the group a good understanding of the hotel and its history, and how they work with EAs, PAs and other corporate event organisers to ensure every meeting and event will meet, and exceed, your expectations.
After a good half an hour of meeting and greeting the 30 Club members in attendance, it was time to split into three groups and go explore the spaces, and some of the 175 rooms and suites at the hotel. We climbed the impressive staircase to the first floor – past the massive red rose covered stiletto promoting Devil Wears Prada musical – we were in London’s theatre land and in the heart of the literary district of Bloomsbury after all. The 4-star bedrooms and suites are all good size, varying from 14 sqm to 34 sqm for a Junior Suite. A one bedroom suite is a very generous 53 sqm in total. The rooms have been newly refurbished to the highest standard, offering a luxury stay for your executives and teams.
Stylish meeting and event spaces at the Radisson Blu Bloomsbury
There are seven meeting and event spaces in total, plus also several inviting break-out spaces, mostly located on the ground floor. The flagship 350-capacity Folio Suite is flooded with natural light thanks to the beautiful bay windows. If you need more space for your events, the Bloomsbury Street works closely with the neighbouring Tottenham Court Road hotel help you cater for events of all sizes and needs.
It’s evident everywhere that the hotel is built to the highest specifications. The warm, residential atmosphere has been achieved with great design. It’s easy to see why it’s described as a modern London townhouse – of substantial size of course.
In addition to hosting corporate functions, the Radisson Blu Bloomsbury also holds a wedding licence and is an excellent venue for social events and private dining.
Cocktails and dinner were served at Bloomsbury Street Kitchen
We all gathered at to the ground floor restaurant for dinner. Before sitting down we stopped by the cocktail station to pick up the evening’s signature drink of Hacien Tequila and cranberry juice, served with fresh mint and whole cranberries. The refreshing drink was a perfect choice on the warm evening.
The Bloomsbury Street Kitchen offers a distinctive fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese cuisine in a relaxed, contemporary setting. Olive trees, sago palms, and natural textures create the feel of a Mediterranean garden, beautifully complemented by the clean, minimalist influences of Japanese design.
We were treated to what felt like an endless parade of dishes, each one more delicious than the last. Highlights included tempura prawns, beef tataki, an unforgettable cabbage salad, and what might just be the best patatas bravas this side of Madrid, to name just a few of my favourites. The matcha tiramisu was the perfect finale and an absolute standout.
Najlaa El-Alami, Sales Director was equally pleased with the FAM Trip, and has this to say:
“I’ve been with the Radisson for six months myself and can honestly say this fam trip has already become one of the highlights of my time here.
It was not simply the opportunity to showcase the property, though we do hope you enjoyed seeing the rooms and getting a real feel for the hotel. What made the evening truly special was you, the warmth, the laughter, and the genuine sense of connection you brought with you.
It takes a special kind of energy to turn a hotel site visit into an evening people still smile about days later, and that is exactly what happened. We were also delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the food and the care shown by the team looking after you, and we will be sure to pass on your kind words to them.”
