This week saw the opening of The Ivy Collectionโs newest restaurant in Londonโs Square Mile, The Ivy City Garden. Located at Dashwood House, 69 Old Broad Street, London EC2M 1NA, The Ivy Collectionโs first site in the City of London is set over 3,335 square feet and will have approximately 230 covers. Situated within the historic Bishopsgate Gardens, The Ivy City Garden will feature an all-day-dining menu, private dining room and hidden garden, offering a tranquil al fresco escape from the hustle and bustle of the City.
In keeping with the quintessentially British look The Ivy Collection is fast becoming known for, The Ivy City Garden will feature three cosy fire places, a summer water fountain (changing in the winter months to a roaring fire pit), floor-to-ceiling glass windows and bi-folding doors opening onto a hidden garden. The covered garden will have its own bar and a retractable roof, seating 32 guests and allowing diners to enjoy the garden space year-round, come rain or shine. The private dining room overlooks the elegant garden and neighbouring Church of St Botolph, seating up to 30 guests and offering an ideal space for those celebrating a birthday or hosting a stylish working lunch.
A new cocktail list will sit alongside the dining menu, with a selection of custom-made, contemporary and traditional cocktails created by Bar Manager Sebastian Kasyna. Drinks will include the โDashwood Blossomโ โ Beefeater Gin, fresh grapes, mint, with nettle cordial and a splash of aloe vera juice; and โGarden Collinsโ โ Beefeater Gin infused with rosemary and lavender, with elderflower cordial and garnished with herbs from the barโs very own on-site herb garden. Cocktails will sit alongside an extensive champagne and wine list including the iconic 6L โRock Angelโ rosรฉ from Whispering Angel. A show-stopping moment will come in the form of a champagne cocktail tower, incorporating an arrangement of six glasses of The Ivy City Gardenโs classic champagne cocktail (sugar, rose, angostura bitters and Ivy Collection Champagne), served to guests directly at their table.
Highlights from the breakfast menu will include avocado, tomato and sesame on toasted granary and hot buttermilk pancakes, and The Ivy Collectionโs much-loved eggs Benedict. The all-day menu, available from 11.30am until late, will offer a combination of Ivy Collection favourites such as the shepherdโs pie, and a brioche crumbed chicken Milanese with fried henโs eggs and black truffle, in addition to a sizable and indulgent dessert menu with famed dishes such as the melting chocolate bombe with hot salted caramel sauce. Available exclusively at the Ivy City Garden will be a sumptuous new creation โ a Truffle Beef Wellington sharing platter for four served with Foie Gras sauce, Dauphinoise potatoes and a herb green salad (available via pre-order). The restaurant will be open on weekends, with The Ivy Collectionโs โbuild-your-ownโ waffle menu available for weekend brunchers and those with a sweeter tooth. Guests will also be able to enjoy music provided by a resident DJ performing Monday-Saturday from 6pm to close, as well as during weekend brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am.
The critically-acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is consulting on the restaurantโs interiors, as with The Ivy City Gardenโs sister sites. Notable features include an onyx bar, pendant lighting, marble floor tiles, polished parquet panel flooring and a mixture of burnt orange and leather banquettes and midnight blue bar stools โ all creating a stylish yet laidback environment for all-day dining in The City.
The Ivy Collection is a group of restaurants, brasseries and cafรฉs offering accessible, all-day dining for locals and visitors alike. Each location is carefully handpicked to value, reflect and add to the local area.
