Win a dinner with Ben Kay and the Webb Ellis Cup, courtesy of STH Live

Less than one year to go to Rugby World Cup 2019, hospitality purchasers get a once in a lifetime opportunity to have dinner with World Cup winner Ben Kay and the Webb Ellis Cup.

With less than one year to go before the opening match at Rugby World Cup 2019, Japan, hospitality sales have surpassed all expectations. Individuals and companies have rushed to purchase hospitality packages through STH Live, the exclusive official hospitality provider in the UK.  Sales are 66 per cent higher than forecast, with some packages now sold out.

To celebrate the success, STH Live is offering one lucky fan the chance to have dinner with Ben Kay MBE. Kay was a member of the 2003 Rugby World Cup-winning England team, and is now one of the country’s leading rugby pundits. The winner will get to invite eight guests for an unforgettable evening of fine dining and drinks with fascinating rugby insight from a player that achieved the very highest level of success.

Not only that, but the famous Webb Ellis Cup will also be present, with guests able to have their photo taken with one of the most recognisable sports trophies in the world.

To be in with a chance to win this amazing experience, rugby fans just need to confirm their hospitality booking by the end of the year with STH. For each package bought, the individual or company will be put in the prize draw, which will be held in early 2019.

Create your perfect hospitality experience

Ben Kay, the brand ambassador for STH Live and Rugby World Cup 2019 Official Hospitality, said: “The Official Hospitality offering at Rugby World Cup is second-to-none and is an experience rugby fans from all over the world are desperate to be a part of. Combined with the fact the tournament is happening in Japan, which is a destination on many people’s bucket list, it’s going to be even more special.

“I can’t wait to meet some of the people going to Rugby World Cup 2019 at the exclusive dinner STH Live is offering. Not only will they get to see the Webb Ellis Cup, which is an amazing piece of sporting history, but we’ll be treated to some great food and drink and I’ll hopefully be able to give them a glimpse into what they will experience in Japan next year and how their teams might do.”

Rugby World Cup 2019 will involve 20 international teams, 48 matches, and 12 host cities. Interest is exceptionally high with more than 400,000 travelling visitors expected to be in Japan during the six-week tournament that will take place from 20 September to 2 November 2019. Hospitality purchasers from 39 different countries have already confirmed their place, promising a truly international atmosphere during the event.

STH Live, part of Sports Travel and Hospitality (STH) Group who delivered award-winning hospitality at Rugby World Cups 2007, 2011 and 2015, and who are once again operating the official hospitality at Rugby World Cup 2019, are selling an innovative range of experiences for the tournament.

So far, home nation pool games, ‘follow your team’ packages and the knockout stage matches have proved to be popular, with some packages for the finals already selling out as fans and companies vie to get the best possible seats for the most in-demand matches at the biggest global sporting event in 2019.

STH Live chief executive, Simon Jefford, said. “The interest in Rugby World Cup 2019 official hospitality from the UK market has been incredibly encouraging, with fans showing their commitment to support their teams and businesses clearly recognising the opportunities that world-class hospitality can bring. Japan is proving to be a hugely popular destination for individuals and companies alike, and after delivering award-winning hospitality at the last three Rugby World Cups, in 2019 we want to set the standard for VIP rugby hospitality even higher.”

Rugby World Cup 2019 offers a wide selection of hospitality packages to meet all expectations, ranging from exclusive dinners the night before a match to formal private spaces at a showcase, purpose-built hospitality structure near the International Stadium Yokohama.
