Register for the PA Life Meet Up at The Tappit Hen

PA Life is delighted to announce a Meet Up networking event at The Tappit Hen on the evening of Tuesday, June 4th, 2019.

At the end of 2018, Davy’s Wine Merchants opened The Tappit Hen a 3,680 sq. ft. wine bar and restaurant located in the heart of the City. The venue takes its name from a traditional 2.1 litre Port bottle in a nod to the building’s heritage which was once home to the UK cellars of Port house, Sandeman.

The Tappit Hen interiors’ mixes traditional and contemporary finishes and uses many cues from its illustrious past. The venue uses Sandeman Port barrel staves for banquet seating and finest quality Portuguese cork for the bar front. It features lighting made from original Tappit Hens of Sandeman 1955 which have been lying undisturbed in the Davy cellars for over 60 years – 1955 was the last vintage to be bottled at the St. Swithins Lane address.

Set over two floors it’s a versatile venue that includes a ground floor bar with seating for 60 people and a 50 cover restaurant in the cellars. Two private dining rooms provide an atmospheric area for up to 24 people. The Tappit Hen 15th century cellar is also unique setting for private tastings and events.

The venue offers an extensive list of wines and one of the largest selections of Port and fortified wines available in the City. The drinks are available by the glass using a wine preservation system and Coravin. The restaurant menu changes regularly and features British dishes using principally local and UK-sourced ingredients, with separate bar and private dining offerings

Meet Up guests enjoy a presentation of the venue’s heritage and tour of its various and versatile rooms, with pairing activities and tasting also taking place on the night.

The venue’s team will be serving cocktails and drinks throughout the evening, along with canapés – Guests will also be able to experience The Tappit Hen’s menu, with insight on food and drink pairings too.

There will also be a social media competition and goodie bags including something to drink, Davy’s goodies, a loyalty card Premium Cru, and exclusive offers for upcoming bookings.
