Birmingham PA Network raises £500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity

The PA Guide to Birmingham recently presented Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity with a cheque for £580.70 – money raised at its events over the first half of 2019.

The PA network holds regular showcase events that attract large numbers of high profile PAs, EAs, Virtual Assistants (VAs) and support staff and other event organisers in the region, and, over the last few months, has worked with venues such as Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Bar, The Oyster Club, 180 Club, The Florence, Café Rouge and Lasan.

Rather than charging people to come to the events, The PA Guide asks for donations in exchange for places at their events. Every six months it asks its members to choose a local charity to support. The latest one was the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

The PA Guide founder Oona MacDonald said” “Our events are always well attended and offer PAs, EAs, VAs and event organisers the chance to network and build new relationships with people in similar roles, while checking out some of the great venues across the city.

“Our decision to start asking for a donation in exchange for a ticket has been really well received and we were delighted to present the Children’s Hospital Charity with £580.70, money donated by our members.  This time round our network chose Sifa Fireside as our charity partner for the second half of the year and we’ve already raised over £400 for them.”

Helen Miles, Corporate Fundraising Manager for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, commented: “We’d like to thank the fabulous PA Guide network for their incredible donation of £580. The money will support us in doing more for our sick kids. This could be by contributing to the funding of new equipment, research and innovation and improving patient experience above and beyond what the NHS can offer.”

Since launching in early 2017, The PA Guide now has over 750 PAs, EAs, VAs, Support Staff and other event organisers from over 350 companies across the West Midlands in their network.
