Live meetings and events are back, and any PA or EA looking to boost their knowledge of the sector, stay on top of trends and gather tips on how to develop themselves and their events should consider registering for The Meetings Show, taking place at ExCeL London on 29-30 June 2022.

Learning sits at the heart of the show, and this yearโ€™s inspiring education programme will feature โ€˜strategy-focused contentโ€™ delivered by industry experts, with sessions designed to support the evolution of the business meetings and events industry after a challenging couple of years.

Action-led presentations, panel discussions, workshops and campfires covering current topics such as sustainability, virtual events and equality and inclusion, will be held on the show floor and in ExCeL Londonโ€™s Gallery Rooms over both days, with an opening keynote by Lord Sebastian Coe at 10am on Wednesday 29 June.

The 49 sessions, featuring more than 85 speakers and covering 22 hours, will be streamed into five key areas โ€“ Innovation and Trends; Technology; Meetings Design; My Learning and Personal Development and Marketing โ€“ to make it easy for you to select the sessions of interest to you.

Sustainability and other key priorities

Sustainability is a key priority for many companies, and we all need to play our part in creating a more sustainable events industry. Find out how you can make a difference in a content session entitled โ€˜Reduce, measure, and report your event carbon footprintโ€™. Led by Eloรญsa Urrutia, Head of Sustainability – Meetings & Events – American Express Global Business Travel, it will help you understand how to measure and report carbon emissions and learn best practices to reduce them.

Productivity looks different for every business, and when mixed with well-being, it can affect output. During her workshop, Abigail Barnes of Success by Design Training, will help you design a perfect work-life plan using the 888-formula highlighting the non-negotiables and strategies moving forward.

Mindfulness has become part of many peoplesโ€™ private lives, but how can we bring mindfulness to our meetings? In an interactive session, Sabine Bonora, Head of International Conference Management & Health Manager – MED-EL will share her experience and give you some tips to make it work.

There are several sessions around improving meeting design and creativity to choose from โ€“ learn how to create playful and immersive experiences on a reduced budget, join The People Speak artists for an interactive rollercoaster on designing creative participation formats, and find out how to design your event for more impact.

The role technology plays in booking meetings is becoming ever more important. Stay on top of all the latest tech in the Event Tech Tour โ€“ which will allow you to swiftly see and learn from leading technology suppliers.

Accessibility and inclusivity are also hot topics but are often an afterthought for planners. The goal of every event is to ensure great experiencesย for everyone who attends โ€“ find out how to create accessible events and share ideas in โ€˜Be part of the changeโ€™, plus how to create an inclusive event through catering to dietary requirements in โ€˜Remove the booze (and other food-related gripes!)โ€™.
