What a Real Welcome Should Look Like

ethical-inclusive-venue-Eastside-Rooms-Birmingham

When you walk into a hotel or venue, one of the first things you usually see is a sign that says โ€˜welcomeโ€™. But what does a real welcome really mean? It loses gloss if itโ€™s not backed up by proactive service teams and on hand support offering an ethical and inclusive experience for all.

At The Eastside Rooms, we think it really needs to mean a whole lot more than just a nice smile and that quality service is a given. Welcome means that you are welcomed right? And that the venue is welcoming of you โ€“ all of you. Also, it means that everyone who comes through the door, regardless of who they are and where they are from is equally welcome.

Ethical, inclusive and accessible to all

We really believe in this and it cuts to the very heart of our business. From concept to build, launch to the present day, The Eastside Rooms is all about โ€˜ethical businessโ€™. Everything we do is open, inclusive, accessible, and truly โ€“ genuinely โ€“ welcoming. If you canโ€™t get into the venue because of a lack of wheelchair access, if you donโ€™t see your cultural heritage reflected in the people who greet you, if you canโ€™t order off the menu without making a scene, youโ€™re not really welcome, regardless of what the sign says.

At the Eastside Rooms we mean what we say, and we walk the walk; this includes everything from food options to โ€˜Changing Placesโ€™ facilities for the acutely disabled. It means wider corridors and doors, provisions for those hard of hearing or seeing, and a diverse and inclusive staff that reflects every area of society.

At The Eastside Rooms, we make it our business to promise you, your staff, and your guests that they are, truly, welcome.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Birmingham soon!
