AV decisions no longer driven by price

The cost of AV is no longer a decision-making factor, according to Church House Westminster

An event organiserโ€™s decision when looking at AV services is no longer driven by price, according to a survey carried out by Church House Westminster.

The Westminster venue asked 87 of its clients what was important to them when choosing AV. The results reveal that only 34% base their decision on price, compared to 42% when Church House asked them the same question in 2013.

There is also an increase in the number of organisers using in-house AV services and technology โ€“ 45% will choose this option, a small increase compared to the 42% two years ago. Event planners using an external AV agency has remained relatively static โ€“ 14% compared to 15% in 2013.

The venue carried out the poll amongst its clients to further understand what event planners require when it comes to event technology.

Church House Westminsterโ€™s General Manager Robin Parker comments: โ€œOver the years we have made significant investment in technology and infrastructure so we can provide clients with the latest services to meet their event requirements.

โ€œThe results of our latest survey compared to the one we carried out in 2013 are very interesting. Whereas price was previously one of the main driving forces in the decision-making process, it appears that event planners are now focusing on what is important โ€“ having the right AV for the event and meeting their audienceโ€™s needs.โ€
