The Business of Events, the leading Think Tank and Advocacy Network for the business events sector, has announced a stellar line up for its signature Global Policy Forum. Politicians, policymakers and leading industry figures will be speaking at the event on April 1st, which this year is sponsored by RX Global.
The forum in designed to unlock the potential and drive growth within the UKโs business events economy. It’s encouraging to have high level speakers and contributors including Shaun Davies MP Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events; Dame Caroline Dinenage DBE MP Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee; and columnist and politician Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE who will be giving delegates his view on the current political and economic landscape.
The Global Policy Forum will highlight the importance of business events to the UK economy
Seasoned news anchor, reporter and broadcaster Trish Lynch will moderate the Forum, which will feature Senthil Gopin, Chief Executive of ICCA, discussing the opportunity that business events bring to the UK economy and Neil Brownlee, newly elected Chair of PCMA and Head of Business Events at VisitScotland, on a policy focussed approach to business events.
RX Global UK Managing Director, Kerry Prince, will explore the opportunities for the UK exhibition and trade show sector. There will also be some of the UKโs leading business events destinations who will contribute to a session, moderated by VisitBritain/Meet Englandโs Paul Black, on the changing role of Convention Bureaux.
Meanwhile, Mickael Benaim, Head of Research at SFA Connect, will highlight how destinations are adapting to the changing economic and political landscape. And that’s all before the closing keynote address is delivered by Dame Caroline Dinenage DBE MP, Member of Parliament for Gosport and Chair of the Culture Media and Sports Select Committee.
Mike Fletcher, Director of News & Content at The Business of Events, said: โOur Global Policy Forum, which is TBOEโs main event of the year, is once again shaping up to be a must-attend event for senior business event professionals.
โBefore even announcing the programme, we witnessed an unprecedented level of applications and are delighted to already be welcoming and connecting representatives from some of the sectorโs most recognised brands. No doubt now the programme has been announced, we will receive even more interest from other senior figures who are keen to examine ways in which we can build stronger local and national economies through business events.โ
