Nominations are open, with an extended deadline, for the 2023 miaList.ย  The awards are a perfect way for the Meetings Industry Association (mia) to shine a spotlight on the sectorโ€™s finest talent for its thirteenth consecutive year.

Professionals working within the business meetings and events sector now have until July 7th to nominate either an inspirational individual or team who go above and beyond the call of duty and have played an instrumental role in making their organisation a success.

The 2023 miaList nominations are open for all of the meetings and events industry

Anyone who is working within or is associated with the UKโ€™s business meetings and events sector is eligible to be featured on the prestigious list, which is free to enter. However, individuals must be nominated by either a colleague or an associate.

New for this year, the list that commenced in 2011 now features an Agency of the Year and Star of the Future title, alongside categories for Sustainability, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as a Best Innovation accolade, which were introduced last year.

Other titles that will continue to be recognised at the ceremony being held atย Park Plaza Victoria London on 6 October 2023, include dedicated Team of the Year awards for those in Events & Operations, Sales & Marketing and DMOs, as well as dedicated Venue of the Year and Supplier of the Year titles.

Kerrin MacPhie, chief executive of the mia, said: โ€œAfter a record number of entries received last year, itโ€™s fantastic to see that demand for places on our coveted list continues. However, having spoken to many who are currently compiling their entries, weโ€™ve decided to extend the deadline by one week to ensure as many individuals and teams can enter as possible.

Full details and application forms can be found here. Completed forms and portfolios of evidence must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 7 July.

Celebrating inspirational individuals, initiatives, and teams, the miaList showcases the best of the sector and recognises those who go above and beyond the call of duty to make their organisation a success.

New categories included in 2023 miaList nominations

New for this year, a dedicated Agency of the Year will accompany the existing Supplier of the Year and Venue of the Year titles. The mia will also be championing the next generation with an all-new Star of the Future category.

Returning titles, which will continue to be recognised at the ceremony at Park Plaza Victoria London on 6 October, include dedicated Team of the Year awards for those in Events & Operations, Sales & Marketing, as well as those representing Destinations. Having been introduced last year, accolades for Best Innovation, Sustainability initiative and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative will also return.

Who can be nominated for the 2023 miaList?

Anyone who is working within or that is associated with the UKโ€™s business meetings and events industry is eligible to be nominated for a spot on the prestigious list. It is free to nominate someone to be recognised on the miaListโ€™ coveted roll of honor, where their names will forever be cemented amongst those that have been leading the sector since 2012.

All nominations will be assessed by an expert panel of judges, from emerging stars to industry stalwarts spanning all corners of the sector.

There will also be an additional judging stage for all team and initiative awards, where those shortlisted by the panel will be subject to a weighted public vote.

Kerrin MacPhie, chief executive of the mia, said: โ€œThe launch of the miaList is always one of the most exciting times in the mia calendar, and weโ€™re eager to see who the 2023 cohort of industry champions will be when theyโ€™re added to our coveted roll of honour later this year.

โ€œIn what is its thirteenth year, to be recognised on the miaList is a truly prestigious achievement and we now encourage the sector to put forward nominations from all roles, whether client-facing or making things happen behind-the-scenes. It provides the perfect opportunity for organisations to recognise the efforts and achievements of their team and is always so greatly received by those who are nominated, shortlisted and beyond.โ€

Full details and application forms can be found here. Completed forms must be submitted by 5pm on 23 June.
