80% of workers regret sending naughty secret santa presents

Eight in 10 workers have revealed they have overstepped the mark with inappropriate secret santa presents for colleagues who took offence, according to a new study by novelty item VI Poo.

90% thought theyโ€™d have a sense of humour if presented with a silly gift, but you might want to tread carefully when handing over mankinis, inflatable walking frames and novelty nude calendars, which were revealed to be among the common gifts. While a third of Brits thought buying a funny present was the key to a faultless Secret Santa gift, 53% said it was important to buy something thoughtful instead.

โ€œSecret Santa is meant to be a bit of fun and should be treated as such,โ€ said a spokesperson for VIPoo, the novelty toilet spray. โ€œThe research highlights that funny or novelty gits are a sure-fire way to have a successful Secret Santa.โ€

One in five Brits said they always opt for a present that refers to a private joke between themselves and another workmate, according to the novelty product, which is hoping to use the festive season to tackle the embarrassment of using the toilet at work.

โ€œAfter a long year, itโ€™s a great way to bond with co-workers, whether you are firm friends with them already and are buying them a gift that references a long running joke, or they are a more distant colleague.โ€
