A quarter of UK employees job hunt during office hours

If you regularly check out job sites while you’re supposed to be working then you’re not alone, as a new survey reveals that almost a quarter (23%) of office workers do the same.

The poll by Safetica, a provider of employee monitoring and data protection software, also shows that nearly a third (33%) of employees have printed personal files on a company printer, the same amount has used social media during work hours and a daring 12% has even taken company files home on a USB stick.

In terms of a demographic breakdown, it’s interesting to note that female employees are bolder, leading most categories; it also seems that older office workers are more likely to play it safe, with the youngest age group surveyed, 25-34 year olds, scoring the highest.
