David Bowie left £1.4 million to PA

Singer David Bowie

The late great David Bowie spoke very highly of his long-time PA Corinne “Coco” Schwab. His generosity has extended to his afterlife, with the singer reportedly leaving £1.4 million to Schwab in his will.

Schwab worked with Bowie for 46 years, starting in London in 1973 when she answered an ad from the star’s management company MainMan asking for somebody to work in their busy office. After six months on the job, Bowie asked her to go with him to America to act as his PA.

Bowie has been known to describe Schwab as his “best friend” and even credited her with saving his life by helping him defeat a drug addiction in the 1970s. She is known for acting as the singer’s ‘guard dog’, shielding him from stress throughout his career, and has even been blamed by Angie Bowie for the breakdown of her marriage to the star.

Bowie has also paid tribute to Schwab in song, namely the 1987 hit Never Let Me Down, which he wrote specifically for her.
