Brother launches wireless scanner

Brother is enabling the UK?s SMBs to upload paper documents quickly and easily to digital archives and cloud-based systems, with the launch of a low cost desktop scanner with integrated wired and wireless networks.

The ADS-2600W is the first scanner designed for small businesses that previously would have had to purchase an expensive enterprise level model, or use an additional external box to enable multiple users to have access to the device. An intuitive 9.3cm touchscreen and user interface make the scanner extremely simple to use for all employees.
A key function is the ability to scan and save documents to cloud services including Dropbox, Evernote and Google Docs. The model also offers 2-sided scanning, and has a compact design perfect for smaller businesses where space is at a premium.
The bundled software for both Windows and Mac-based systems enables users to create searchable PDFs ? transforming paper documents into a digital archive that can be accessed by all users. The scanner can also scan to Microsoft Sharepoint, and comes with TWAIN and ISIS drivers to integrate seamlessly into existing document management systems. The Scan To feature means small businesses can immediately make paper more productive, as well as Bizcard software, which enables users to digitalise business cards, adding them directly into contact databases.
The model expands Brother?s range of desktop and mobile scanners aimed specifically at growing businesses seeking high quality, function-rich scanners to improve productivity by digitising documents effectively. The market for personal and desktop scanners is expected to double in size over the next three years.
?The UK?s SMBs are continuing to increase their spending on cloud technologies, so we are providing offices with affordable, practical scanning technology that will help them digitise and share information across the business using these services,? said Andy Johnson, product marketing manager at Brother UK. ?Not only does our latest model support uploads to widely used cloud services for small businesses, but offers companies a model which can be shared across the whole employee base. Until now, this has only been possible with high-end expensive models, or through purchasing bulky external network boxes. The ADS-2600W takes away all of this complexity, providing time poor businesses with a simple, affordable, functional way to instantly digitise documents on the network.?
