Butlin’s reflects on conference growth in 2017

The team at entertainment and events destination Butlin’s have been looking back on their year of growth in the events sector, marking five years since re-entering the market.

Looking to change public perceptions of the company with their ‘think you know Butlin’s? Think again’ campaign, Butlin’s is hoping that they have demonstrated their abilities as a refreshingly modern alternative to traditional conference and event solutions. The immediate result has been an increased growth for Butlin’s Conference & Events for the fifth year running, as well as the continued welcoming of a whole host of high-profile clients.Hiu

In 2017, Butlin’s has also continued its investment into agents, including its most recent appointment of Ellie Jones to Agency Sales Manager. Ellie joins the team with more than 13 years’ experience having also worked at Center Parcs, Merlin Entertainments, the Principal Hayley Hotel Chain and Zibrant. The arrival of Ellie is another appointment in a series, as the Butlin’s Conference & Events team continues to build alongside its success.

The growth of the conference and events sector of the business has also largely been attributed to the continuous reinvestment in the resorts’ facilities. Butlin’s has invested over £200 million on impressive new facilities and dedicated events teams, including the launch of new Fairground Apartments and refurbished Silver Apartments at Skegness this year, as well as new Seaside Apartments at Bognor Regis and Minehead in 2016, and Skegness in 2015. Other recent launches include a West Lake Chalet Village at Minehead and the refurbishment of the Shoreline Hotel at Bognor Regis. This continued investment reflects Butlin’s ongoing dedication to providing the best experience possible for its conference and events guests.
