Cairn Group, one of the UKโs most progressive independent hotels, venues and leisure companies, has announced the autumn 2016 opening of a major new venue, the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (BCEC).
The BCEC, located on Hill Street in the heart of the cityโs rejuvenated centre, boasts a fully flexible events space over two floors in excess of 2000 square metres.
Designed to an exceptionally high standard by โStreet Design Partnershipโ of Manchester, the BCEC takes its place as arguably one of the countryโs best connected venues thanks to its location on the doorstep of Birmingham New Street station, which offers seamless connections with destinations from Aberdeen to Penzance, making it an ideal venue for organisations with delegates travelling from multiple UK destinations.
Vincent Garrington, General Manager of the BCEC comments: โWeโre delighted to officially announce the opening of the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre. The venue brings a major new event and exhibition space to the heart of the city and is proving to be a very attractive proposition for local, national and even global companies and organisations. Already we have secured a number of bookings and have a strong pipeline of companies looking to bring their business to the BCEC in the coming months.
โThe BCEC promises to be one of the countryโs finest venues, providing more than 2000 square metres of flexible space offering the ideal environment for conferences, events and both corporate and private parties.โ
Comprised of 20 conference rooms that can accommodate up to 1450 delegates, as well as six banqueting suites, which can accommodate between 30 and 750 guests, the BCEC features high-spec audio-visual technical equipment and state-of-the-art kitchens for large-scale catering.
The rooms and suites vary in size from 20.9 square metres to 1008 square metres. The largest suite, the Mercian Suite, can accommodate up to 1000 delegates and 750 for a private dinner. The venue also incorporates a heavy goods lift, making it an ideal space for automotive product launches and blank canvas events.
The BCEC is situated just a minuteโs walk from John Lewis on the Southside of Birmingham New Street mainline station, and is also connected via a covered glass walkway to the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre. The venue has preferential agreements in place with hotels across the city, providing access to more than 2000 rooms within a five-mile radius, underlining its appeal for residential conferences and events.
The BCEC is owned and managed by the Cairn Group and has been developed as part of a four-year phased project, which includes the opening of Lobby on Hill Street Bar and Terrace. Plans are also underway for a glamorous rooftop bar and state-of-the-art fitness facility.
Over the past five years, the Cairn Group has spent more than ยฃ40 million acquiring and improving assets and doubled employee numbers in that period, establishing it as a leading player in the privately owned hotel owner and operator market.
Day Delegate Rates at The BCEC are priced from ยฃ50 excluding VAT per person, with an opening offer of ยฃ36 excluding VAT per person for a limited time only.
