Church House Westminster hosts three charities in London Marathon celebration

Church House Westminster once again hosted several charities on the day of the London Marathon.

On race day the Westminster venue was transformed in a post-marathon hospitality events hub, filled with supporters from the respective charities cheering the runners as they were arriving to the venue after completing the gruelling marathon.

The finish line at Buckingham Palace is located within walking distance of Church House, making it a quick and easy transfer for tired legs.

The British Heart Foundation hosted 300 guests in the dome-shaped Assembly Hall which was kitted out with its well-known red balloons and BHF merchandise, and with red ambient lighting, reflecting the charity’s branding. Runners had access to a massage area whilst food in the form of high-carb pasta and sandwiches provided much needed replenishment. The expert AV team of Church House arranged for a live stream of the race throughout the day.

The Children’s Society supporter hub hosted 185 fans and runners during their welcoming reception, again with massage facilities for the exhausted runners. Attendees enjoyed a selection of cakes created by the in-house catering partner of Church House, CH&CO, served with freshly ground Fairtrade filtered coffee and speciality teas.

Sarcoma hosted 120 supporters and fans and treated their guests to Church House’s wellbeing lunch which offered a buffet of healthy finger food, including vegan options and raw energy snacks.

Our location makes us a perfect venue for these post-event hospitality activities and it is always good to see the entire venue come together as a festive (and at times emotional!) hub on the day.
