Conqueror takes to the catwalk

You may overlook the humble ream of paper as nothing more than a mere workplace staple, but those clever people at Conqueror have elevated this most basic of office accessories to haute couture.

The paper was turned into a series of origami-style dresses created by up-and-coming British designer Joey Bevan, who was tasked with transforming products supplied by a selection of the Coronation Festival exhibitors into spectacular outfits.

The elaborate paper dresses were created from Conqueror Golden Haze Pearlescent, which was used to produce paper lace and roses. The range of paper thickness and sizes enabled the designer to create both softly flowing and structural, voluminous sections, while the pearl sheen of the paper gave the dresses a truly luxurious appearance.

The catwalk show took place in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on a 400-seat raised catwalk surrounded by a bed of flowers. So next time you say you’ve nothing to wear to work, then perhaps you should check out the stationery cupboard.
