Demi Moore’s assistant questioned over pool death

Actress Demi Moore could be facing legal action following the drowning death of a man in her swimming pool during a party allegedly thrown by her assistant. Moore was out of town celebrating her daughter?s birthday at the time, but lawyers say she can still be held responsible.

Los Angeles County Coroner Lt Fred Corral reports that 21-year-old Edenilson Steven Valle was pulled from the water after he was found floating in the deep end. It is speculated that he had been in the pool for 10 to 15 minutes. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Corral says the man?s family told investigators he couldn?t swim. TMZ.com, citing law enforcement sources, said Valle appeared to have slipped and fallen into the pool and no foul play was involved.

Ghost star Moore released a statement through her publicist, saying she?s ?in absolute shock? over the incident, calling it an ?unthinkable tragedy?.

Entertainment lawyer Julian Chan told Fox News that employers are responsible for the acts of their staff whether or not they are present at the time. Meanwhile, LA-based attorney Leo Terrell told the channel Moore will be accused of failing to provide proper pool supervision.
