The Meetings Industry Association (mia) has secured an annual sponsorship with technology company Epson UK.

The new collaboration will see Epson UK support relevant mia events while allowing the company to better target the business meetings and events industry.

Epson UK provides business solutions, from printers and scanners to AV projectors and label makers.

Through the terms of the agreement that commences this month, Epson UK will be headline sponsor of the miaโ€™s prestigious miaList 2019, which celebrates excellence across the UKโ€™s business meetings and events industry.

The company will also be invited to attend other key mia events, including its popular Connect Sales HIIT and critically-acclaimed Connect Agent Days and will run an exclusive half-day seminar on a relevant topic relating to AV.

mia says the sponsorship helps increase the strength of the organisation and will enable it to invest more into research, events, training and development for its members.

Gillian Thompson, channel marketing manager of Epson UK, said: โ€œOur collaboration with the mia allows us to inform and educate the meetings and hospitality sector about our range of innovative AV solutions, which can enhance and improve any meetings space for delegates and trainers alike.โ€

Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the mia, said: โ€œWe are thrilled to be working with Epson UK on various projects this year. Their support is invaluable to our association and will enable us to continue to provide a wealth of resources for our valued membership.โ€ย

Separately, events, golf, and travel company The Aspiration Group has joined the mia as a supplier member.

Like hundreds of other supplier members, The Aspiration Group, which specialises in providing bespoke event, travel, hospitality, sport and merchandise solutions, was AIM accredited following assessment.

AIM is the UKโ€™s only recognised accreditation scheme for the meetings and events industry and assures buyers of quality, professionalism and credibility.

To receive accreditation, all businesses must adhere to 50 strict criteria in areas such as the quality of facilities, accessibility, legal compliance, customer service proposition and experience.
