Event and travel firms come together to launch talent competition

Three events and travel companies, Chew Events, Sandals Resorts and One Night Only have come together to launch a talent competition in aid of events industry charity Meeting Needs.

The organisers are calling for people from the events industry who can sing, dance, or have a passion for stand-up comedy to take part in Events R Talented. Entrants will audition over late summer and autumn entertainment judges, who will be announced in due course.

Three finalists will be chosen and the winners will perform at the finale during the EVCOM Awards Luncheon in November. One winner will be selected at this event, who will go on to perform as a โ€˜Starโ€™ act at the 2019 M&IT Awards Dinner in March 2019. They will also win a place on the VIP Sandals Resort FAM Trip to the Caribbean in 2019, where they will also perform live in resort.

There is no fee to enter, however money will be raised for Meeting Needs through this competition by a minimum ยฃ50 per entry from friends and colleagues.

โ€œWe are delighted to be part of Events R Talented โ€“ a new initiative that not only gives the industry and its employees a chance to shine, but also gives something back to help others,โ€ said Matt Curran, director of Chew Events.

โ€œWe very much look forward to seeing what wonderful talents people have and we cannot wait for the big finale at the M&IT Awards.โ€

Lene Corgan, executive committee member from Meeting Needs, added: โ€œWe are thrilled that Events R Talented has chosen to support Meeting Needs. This is a great industry initiative, which will showcase some of the very talented people in our industry while supporting projects in the UK and around the world which will help change lives. We cannot wait to see what hidden talents are out there.โ€

Events R Talented aims to raise a significant amount of monies for Meeting Needs and funds will be distributed among the causes supported by the charity, of which the industry will be proud.
