Feel Good

Feel Good: how to change your mood and cope with whatever comes your way โ€“ Dr Shane Pascoe and Dr Graham Law

(Capstone, ยฃ10.99)

This is a practical and well-written guide to help you understand why you feel the way you do and how to deal with your own moods, as well as other peopleโ€™s. The techniques in the book can be applied to both work and personal life. It is recommended that you read a chapter each week and this is sound advice. The book is so full of information that I needed time to absorb each section before moving on.

It gave some good insights into behaviour and belief and how these affect our moods. There are chapters focusing on specific issues with valuable tips and exercises centred on relaxation techniques. It really made me think about how I deal with things and some changes I need to make.

Itโ€™s written by a psychologist and a scientist, so it explores the subject from two different angles. I did wonder whether this would make it heavy going, but it is so informative that it never felt like a chore.
