I read this book in the hopes that it would be a touching story about gal pals and found myself delving into the challenging tale of two women who have to grow up fast at the age of 30. While the situations faced by the main characters can be emotionally heavy at times, I came out at the end feeling attached to Bev and Amy.

Throughout a twisting, turning plot line, where each chapter is told from a different character’s perspective, the two main characters experience an almost complete role reversal. While one’s life falls apart, the other’s seems to snap into place and start making sense. Add middle-aged Sally to the mix and you’ve got a microcosm of the female condition.

If you’re a fan of rollercoaster rides, you’ll love this one.
