The Landmark London in Marylebone truly is one of the most magnificent hotels in London, and this says a lot. The five-star Grande Dame hotel has, since its debut over 125 years ago, remained an icon of quintessential and elegant London charm. Our Editor had a pleasure to pay a visit to take in the splendor. The visit included drinks at the Champagne Bar, located in the awe-inspiring Atrium, a tour of the grand event spaces, which include two ballrooms, and ended with a delicious dinner on an eighth floor private dining space overlooking the Atrium.
The Landmark Hotel is an oasis of luxury and serenity in the heart of the capital
The hotel is one of the oldest railway hotels in London and dates back to the romantic era of train travel. This is still evident in the opulent design, grandeur and timeless service and which today blends seamlessly with theย contemporary flair and five-star amenities they offer. This is best represented in its iconic and soaring eight-storey-high glass atrium that has been at the centre of the hotel since its opening.
With 300 rooms, 51 of which are some of Londonโs largest and most luxurious suites, the hotel offers an elevated experience and sumptuous comfort, all centrally located to explore London. When guests arrive, they are awed by the towering palm trees and eight-storey glass atrium. A welcoming check in experience is followed by a relaxed journey to the room.
In 2023, the hotel underwent a magnificent ยฃ1.3 million refurbishment. These renovations span many of The Landmark Londonโs wellโknown spaces, including the addition of the lavish Champagne Bar on the previous Garden Terrace and new elevated features to the renowned Winter Garden Restaurant – the heart of the hotel. This follows the launch of Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher which was completed in late 2022.
The Landmark London restaurants include a traditional British pub
During the stay, guests can dine at one of The Landmark Londonโs outstanding restaurants including Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher โ serving up British pub classics โ The Winter Garden โ the elegant AA Rosette restaurant – or The Champagne Bar which serves a light range of seafood-centric small plates, caviar, blinis & classic garnishes, desserts and an impressive High Sea High Tea. The expert servers have also experienced a revamp of their traditional uniforms, incorporating colourful new designs with floral elements to reflect the natural beauty of the space. Each new feature brings a stylish, modern feel to the elegant charm that the restaurant offers.
Great Central Pub by Matt Fletcher
A gastropub from the core, Great Central Pub is a new, more relaxed concept for The Landmark London. Run by Chef de Cuisine Matt Fletcher, the pub marries the old with the new, honouring the original design, with interiors paying homage to the romantic era of travel.
Fletcherโs menus offer comforting old pub classics with a modern twist, with options including Beer Battered British Market Fish, classic Bangers โnโ Mash and a Ginger Pig Steak & Ale Pie. The pub focuses more on locally sourced beers and a refined wine list. Its offering is designed to be enjoyed in a warm ambience that evokes long conversations on the sofas by the open fireplace, in a pleasant corner, or over dinner on the high tables.
Mirror Bar
Mirror Bar invites guests to revel in the glamourous ambience of a secret London hideaway. The beautiful and sophisticated space offers an innovative menu of expertly-crafted cocktails, fine wines, spirits and beers, alongside light snacks and bites.

This fruity drink is a lightly shaken mix of local Marylebone Gin, pear liqueur, apple and lime juice and finished with absinthe mist. The cocktail menu is refined and changes seasonally.
Champagne Bar
The Champagne Bar is the jewel in the crown of The Landmark Londonโs 2023 refurbishment, serving up a wide range of luxury Champagnes including Taittinger, Bollinger and Pol Roger, among many others. The space also serves a light range of seafood-centric small plates, caviar, blinis & classic garnishes and desserts.
