IN PICTURES: PA Life Meet Up focuses on sustainability

Over 60 PAs and EAs got together last week for the first physical PA Life Meet Up since before the pandemic. The event, which was bought together through a partnership between PA Life and Lime Venue Portfolio, saw the close network of senior PAs convene at Penethorne’s Bar and venue at Somerset House.

While the main order of the evening was to bring the group together for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Lime Venue Portfolio created a theme that put food and sustainability firmly on the table.

Lime Venue Portfolio’s sister company, Restaurant Associates, who cater at the venue, as well as other cultural and heritage properties within the portfolio, showcased ‘Ways to be Well’, a series of packages that inject sustainability, nutrition and mindfulness into meetings and event bookings.

The brand’s spoke eloquently about how the world had changed over the last 24 months and that people’s attitudes to environmental issues had changed as well. Jo Austin, Sales Director, Lime Venue Portfolio shared some of the work being done, across the portfolio of venues, to create more sustainable menu’s that allow organisers to put on greener and more ethical events, as well as its own contribution to achieving Net Zero by 2030.

Additionally, nutritionist Luxey Dayanandan, spoke about how the Ways to be Well packages could be executed to create more empathetic events that put delegate wellbeing and planetary wellbeing at the heart of the food experience.

Finally, the chefs bought the thinking to life with a range of dishes that mixed plant-based options with free range meats and ethically sourced fish; all with the intention of feeding minds and bodies, while still leaving the guests with delicious tasting food.

The bowl food format allowed for small taster options of the five different dishes on show and demonstrated how sustainable food can create talking points between delegates.

Sustainability remains a key priority for the majority of businesses and brands. The PA Meet Up showed once again how hungry its members are to embrace the subject and look for ways, they can integrate it into more sustainable meetings and event programmes.

Ways to be Well packages are available at cultural and heritage properties across Lime Venue Portfolio. They underpin the brand’s Meetings for Change campaign, introduced to give organisers choice and reassurance when looking to create more sustainable events.
