London Capital Club opens its doors to the public with the launch of Tavern at 15

On 19 November the London Capital Club at 15 Abchurch Lane sets to open its new restaurant to the public – giving Londoners a taste of the private club experience.

Welcome to the London Capital Club! The legendary private business Club, located in the heart of the City, celebrates this year its 100th birthday. A good opportunity to revamp the old basement restaurant and incorporate it within the Club’s philosophy: preserving the most worthwhile aspects of a traditional Club, whilst responding to the demands of today’s business life.

This dynamic, fostered by Simon Russell since he took over as the General Manager of the London Capital Club two years ago, has been put on a long-term footing. “We boast a proud reputation of excellence and quality within the City, whilst adapting to the modern demands of business in London. We are proud to now open this offering up for the public to enjoy a taste of the hospitability we are renowned for,” he explains.

Tavern at 15, the new basement restaurant, set beneath the prestigious Club, has been refurbished for the occasion, featuring a trendy and city-like atmosphere. Coated with elegant concrete and terracotta colours, Tavern at 15 is an invitation to take a journey to great food whilst trying some of the finest wines from all around the world, or sipping one of the astonishing cocktails composed by the experienced mixologists.

Head Chef Jean-Didier Gouges, famous for his inventive cuisine at the Royal Albert Hall, has been brought in to oversee a menu of British cuisine with global/multicultural influences. Subtle and flavourful, the Chef’s touch falls in line with the high-standing private Club’s tradition. Menus will change seasonally. On Tuesday, 17 November, members of the PA Life Club are being invited to the soft launch of Tavern at 15.
