London events market heats up for summer

With a record hot summer forecast for the British capital, an increasing number of companies are choosing to hold their event outdoors this season. Event management agency Office Summer has noted a 15% rise in summer party enquiries for the London area so far this year.

“Summer is the time for team-building and refreshing your employees for autumn campaigns… companies seem increasingly inclined to invest in the wellbeing of their employees with mid-year events,” says Operations Manager Philippa Radford.

The company reports that popular formats include the traditional British sports day, Alice in Wonderland parties and topical Brazilian themes that tie in with this year’s footballing action.

Other ideas that are perennially popular with corporate clients include circuses, fairs, festivals, picnics and – building on the success of the 2012 event – events in the style of the Olympic Games.
