Non-stop live music venue comes to the West End

The House of Song is opening its next non-stop, late night, audience-requested live music venue this month next to Whitcomb Street, off Leicester Square, following the success of its first live music concept, The Piano Works in Farringdon.

The name, Studio 88, is inspired by the plethora of creative studio spaces in London’s West End that fuel the capital’s creative performance, music, dance and film industries and the fact that there are 88 keys on a keyboard.

Studio 88 provides a unique immersive experience, with non-stop live music that you, the audience, control, so you can sing your heart out (and dance) to all your favourites tunes. Taking centre stage, and ready for any request, is Studio 88’s six-piece house band consisting of two pianists, a drummer, guitarist, bassist and horn – there’s no set playlist, no set band (over 50 musicians are employed by Studio 88) so no two nights are ever the same.

Some of the country’s top designers from the world of stage, sound and lighting have created an engaging and interactive experience – look out for the light-up, musically-synced tables and state-of-the-art LED lighting designs that respond in accordance with the band’s melodies.

Whilst everyone comes for the music, Studio 88 also delivers on innovative food and drink. The menu is California Cone-based – bamboo cones filled with fresh and vibrant Californian-influenced ingredients. Choose from a variety of meat, fish, vegetarian and allergen-free cones such as miso pork with black bean, quinoa and chipotle yoghurt; coconut chicken curry with sticky jasmine rice, coriander chutney with cashews and crispy fried onions or the veggie shiitake mushrooms with curly kale, garlic, tamari and sesame seeds. Purchase individually from Studio 88’s usherettes or book a table and enjoy a set of six that includes a dessert cone and a glass of
prosecco for £25.

An experimental cocktail list, The Autograph Collection, features theatrical serves inspired by the world’s most famous recording and filming studios including Pinewood, Abbey Road and Motown’s first headquarters, Hitsville USA – expect experimental and molecular concoctions designed to delight and surprise. Traditionalists can choose from House of Song’s Signature Collection featuring reinvented classic cocktails whilst other drinks include premium spirits, wines and beers.

Private bookings, corporate events and theatrical parties for up to 100 are welcome in Studio 88’s Blue Room
