Pay rises imminent for UK support staff

Recruitment of secretarial and office support staff has been boosted by a resurgence in permanent appointments, according to the latest salary survey from specialist recruitment agency Robert Walters.

An increase in job numbers and rising candidate mobility means that administrative professionals from a range of backgrounds can look forward to a salary increase this year, with mid-to-senior level office administrators among those in greatest demand.

Project co-ordinators and senior receptionists working in the financial services sector are also in a good position to secure pay rises during 2015.

Job flow is predicted to remain strong in both London and the north of the country, where continued commercial investment and relocations of back office functions from other regions is creating new PA, HR and secretarial opportunities.

The highest paid positions for management assistants are to be found in financial services, where office managers and EAs can expect to earn up to £50,000 a year.
