Penelope Alice heads to London’s Kia Oval

Located just a few minutes’ walk away from Vauxhall tube station sits the impressive cricket ground, Kia Oval. Perhaps not the most traditional site for meetings or conferences, however, inside there is plenty for corporate clients to choose from.

A group of PAs and I were invited down to the Kia Oval yesterday for a beautiful evening of cocktails and canapés and of course some sunshine. We were given exclusive access to the John Major Room – a huge space capable of hosting various events including cabaret, boardroom, theatre and many more.

But what makes this room special is the inclusion of a huge balcony, glass windows, double doors and the glorious view of the cricket ground. It would be perfect for summer parties thanks to its generous outdoor space.

We were also given a tour of the conference space, where we got to see the Ashes Suite, England Suite and India Room, as well as numerous boxes that can host up to 40 guests.

You’ll also struggle to find one that doesn’t come with a view of the cricket ground, as the majority of these rooms boast a beautiful view.

For me, one of the most spectacular spaces inside the Oval is The Corinthian Roof Terrace. Situated at the top of the building is an enormous green space, complete with catering stations and a bar to ensure every event can be taken care of.

The terrace also features a roof, so there is no need to panic if you opt for a summer party here and the heavens decide to open. Plus, I am also told that many companies choose to hire out the area to host team-building events.

Thanks to its length and sizing, it would be easy to break the terrace up into sections, where employees can take part in games in one section, while others mingle and enjoy soaking up the views of London and the Oval.

It really has been fantastic to see this space in all its glory – make sur you consider the Kia Oval for your summer events or team-building days, it really has so much to offer.
