Sea Containers Events celebrates opening with exclusive launch

The view from Sea Containers Events

New London venue Sea Containers Events hosted an exclusive showcase party last night (Thursday 16 March), welcoming more than 300 guests to celebrate its launch.

Managed by award-winning hospitality company Green & Fortune, Sea Containers Events officially opened its doors for commercial events last month. The launch was an opportunity for corporate bookers, agencies and media to see the venue in action. It took place across the 12th and 13th floors of the iconic Sea Containers building, which both offer floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking some of London’s most impressive river and cityscape views.

Guests were welcomed on arrival with a fruity vodka jelly segment or passionfruit and chilli spritz before being escorted to the Level 12 event space. All catering was provided by Green & Fortune, with canapรฉs including โ€˜Award-winningโ€™ venison, spiced apple and mulled wine sausage rolls, cured stone bass ceviche, tequila and lime dressing and salt chilli chicken with spiced pepper mayonnaise. Meanwhile, guests were served Perrier-Jouรซt, Blason Rosรฉ and entertainment included an electric violinist, saxophone quartet and an illusionist.

The second part of the event showcased the Cucumber, Sunset and Amphitheatre spaces on the 13th floor. The in-house mixologists made cocktails to order such as a โ€˜Henney Fig Fizz โ€“ Hennessey, creme de fig, vanilla, passionfruit and proseccoโ€™, and the โ€˜High Tea โ€“ Redberry tea syrup, cranberry, Beefeater gin, lime, lemonade and hibiscus syrupโ€™. Food included a carving station of pulled shoulder of lamb in a warm pitta, spiced aubergine and tomato, garlic and almond yogurt, as well as a seafood bar featuring oysters, prawns and cured salmon complete with a branded ice feature all overseen by Brendan Fyldes, chef director. A โ€˜Pudding Laneโ€™ dessert station provided some sweet treats, which feature on the venueโ€™s event menus. A DJ and pianist entertained guests, showing how the spaces can be used for evening events and parties.

A warm and dry evening meant that guests were able to head up to Sea Containers Eventsโ€™ show-stopping Roof Terrace space, which boasts unspoiled views across London. No one left empty-handed, as Green & Fortune made an individually bottled, labelled and wax-sealed barrel-aged Negroni for every attendee.

John Nugent, Green & Fortuneโ€™s chief executive comments: โ€œWe were delighted to host so many guests at what was a fantastic launch party last night, with the help of our trusted suppliers and partners. It was an honour to show our current and future guests what we can do in the events spaces we have available, and we are confident in the fact that we can cater for the changing needs of event bookers and guests. The team is very much looking forward to the future.โ€
