Spilling the beans on your morning habit

There’s nothing like the sweet aroma of coffee to get you out of bed and functioning like a normal human being in the morning. Turn’s out this little bean has some big benefits too…

A new study has found a simple tool to help keep off unhealthy weight…coffee.

New evidence published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition has looked at successful dieters and found one common link – coffee.

Researchers looked at the habits of both men and women and found that those who had lost fat were much better at keeping it off if they also consumed a few cups of java.

Individuals who consumed two to four cups of coffee a day were found to be much more successful at keeping the unwanted weight off after losing it.

Scientists did add that the findings were based on the caffeine content above all else – although there are numerous other health benefits of coffee.

In a release from the study they explained: ‘Caffeine consumers have a lower body mass index than those who consume little or no caffeine. And high caffeine intake has also been linked with weight loss. Our research suggests it might also support maintenance of that weight loss.’

So if you’re falling asleep at your desk you have another excuse to reach for the coffee – just try and resist the biscuits.
