Temperature the top cause of office arguments

It’s an age-old struggle in the workplace; some employees have to bundle up to stay warm, while others complain about being too hot. Research from energy provider E.ON shows that temperature is the number one cause of arguments at the office.

Seven out of 10 workers say they’re unhappy with the heating – or lack thereof – at their office. And the struggle to find the right balance causes its fair share of workplace tussles.

The E.ON poll reveals more than a third of people have argued with colleagues at least once a month about the temperature. One in eight even admit to secretly adjusting the thermostat, while a quarter have shut windows behind a colleague’s back.
